About Speaker:
Jakrawal Nilthamrong
Jakrawal is artist and filmmaker. His work spans from short films, documentary films to video installations and feature films. The themes of his work often relate to Eastern philosophy in contemporary context. His work was shown in international film festivals and art exhibitions including Yamagata Documentary Film Festival, Taipei Biennial 2012, Berlin Film Festival (Forum Expanded), SeMA Biennale Mediacity Seoul 2014, Toronto Film Festival and many others. 

His feature film “Vanishing Point” (2015) was premiered at the 44th  International Film Festival Rotterdam and won the festival top prize, Hivos Tiger Award. His most recent film “Anatomy of Time” (2021) was premiere at the 78th Venice Film Festival. He is also a full-time lecturer on film subject at Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Jiradej and Pornpilai Meemalai (jiandyin)
jiandyin, collaborative interdisciplinary duo artists, curators and founders of Baan Noorg Collaborative Arts and Culture in 2011, a not-to-profit artist initiative that runs Off-school art and cultural, artist in residency, curatorial, creation and interdisciplinary exchange programme for Nongpo community, Ratchaburi, Thailand and global networks. 

Jiandyin were awarded a fellowship grant locally and internationally as Biennales and exhibitions include 2021 Jakarta Biennale, Indonesia, 2019 Asian Art Biennial: The stranger from beyond the Mountain and the sea, The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, Taiwan, 2018., Kuandu Biennale: Seven Questions for Asia, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, Taiwan. Thailand Biennale Krabi 2018, Krabi, Thailand and joined the documenta fifteen, 2022, Kassel, Germany, Thailand Biennale Chiang Rai, Thailand, 2023.

Suebsang Sangwachirapiban
He graduated in painting from Chiang Mai University, following with an MA in Contemporary Art and New Media from Vincennes-Saint-Denis University in Paris in 2007. Suebsang wears many hats in the Thai contemporary art scene. He is an active artist and art scholar, and works as an independent curator and researcher. His experience includes a decade of guest lecturing and managing a university art centre. He was also appointed to the committee of The Institution of Health Promotion for People with Disability during 2010-2013, making him more concerned and aware of the role of art in people’s development. At the same time, he developed an interest in art brut. In 2012, he was curator in residence at Fukuoka Asian Art in Japan, where his project was a series of contemporary animations around disability.

In 2022, his recent curatorial practice focuses on the Modern Thai art landscape where Kong curates “CROSSOVER II: The Nature of Relationships” at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. The exhibition was a collaboration with Thai Art Collector Association (TACA), together with lenders from public/private organisations and private collectors in Thailand.
