Co-organised by PhotoBangkok and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. The main exhibition will be held at BACC and at more than 20 galleries across Bangkok.

“The essence of PhotoBangkok 2015 is first and foremost to enhance standard and collaborations in the photographic community and creative industries in Thailand,” said Piyatat Hemmatat, Director of PhotoBangkok 2015. “As we believe that our country is full of passionate creative artists with promising photographic capability and potential, it is inevitably now that all concerned parties come together to work hand in hand in creating an integrated platform that leads the works of Thailand’s photographers to an international stage.”

“PhotoBangkok works to becoming a sustainable foundation of photography network, offering educational and engaging alternatives to whoever seek for knowledge sharing and creative opportunities beyond boundaries.” The Director of the festival said, “We truly hope to be able to elevate the development of our creative community through generations. And in doing such, our tool is photography.”

Co-organised by PhotoBangkok 2015 and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), it is scheduled to take place from July 29 – October 4, 2015. With great collaborative supports from significant international cultural institutions, a number of galleries across Bangkok, and leading artists/photographers, the festival program has three core components: main exhibitions; gallery partner exhibitions; and educational program of workshops and talks.

With an aim to enhance photographic arts appreciation and education among the public audience in Thailand, PhotoBangkok 2015 offers a diverse line-up of photo exhibitions and showcases created from months of researches achieved by national and international collaborations. Exchanges of cultural understanding and acknowledgements are crucial in the growth of long-term network building and providing global platforms for photography practitioners.

from neighboring countries in South East Asia are gathered here to offer explorations of arts
and culture, and artistic techniques in photography. A talk by the curator and participating artists will also be held.
