The 17 project’s committees composed of national artists, contemporary artists and academics in the field of visual art, would selected 69 distinctive students to participate in art workshop between 1-8 April, 2012 at Baan Dam Nang Lae, Chiang Rai, the house of Ajarn Thawan Duchanee, the national artist in visual art of 2001. In practice, students were assigned to create at least one work of visual art according to their interests, receiving suggestion from professional visual artists. During the process, the project’s committees selected 12 students with outstanding abilities to further their training in the workshops in Los Angeles, the United State of America, during 16th May – 1st June, 2012 and another 2 students to attendthe 13th Documenta international art exhibition, in Kassel, Germany, between 5th- 11th June, 2012.
Distinctive students who have been selected to join the workshop in Los Angeles, they will visit contemporary art museums and galleries such as The J. Pual Getty Museum, Los Angeles Country Museum of Art, the Weisman Art Museum, accompanied by national artists. Art works by selected students will also be displayed at an exhibition at Royal Thai Consulate General – Los Angeles, the United States of America. Both students who have been selected to join the workshop in America and to attend the 13th Documenta international art exhibition in Germany were expected to create additional artworks to be displayed in the 3thYoung Artists Talent Art Exhibition.
