The study of history, archaeology and anthropology is essential for learning today as the study of these fields can assist us to better understand our cultural background and therefore assist us to adapt modern notions and technology to better suit the culture to which we belong.
On the occasion of the 150th year of HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab’s birthday in 2012, the Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn University, as an academic institution which honours HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab’s memory through the courses taught and the research undertaken, together with Interior Ministry, will hold an exhibition to pay tribute to Prince Damrong’ contributions. The exhibition aims to carry down to younger generations his academic practice of investigating, taking notes, and memorising through the presentation of his biography and academic works as well as related activities.
There will be a showcase of rare pictures and films featuring HRH Prince Damrong Rajanubhab along with a special workshop, “Listen-Think-Ask-Write” on March 30-31, 2013. In this workshop you will learn and practice traditional tool-making activities from our experts. We encourage you to take notes during this workshop to assist you in your future research. We hope that the exhibition will provide the Inspiration to seek knowledge which will be of benefit to visitors young and old in their lifelong learning.
