700, Inferno : Dante Alighieri 2021

700, a journey through Dante INFERNO is a performance for early instruments (Lute and Harpsichord), live electronics and voice.
The event is produced by the Italian Embassy for the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, in collaboration with BIAG - Bangkok International Artist Guild.

Dante Alighieri (1265 – 1321), was an Italian poet, writer, philosopher and he is considered the real father of the modern Italian language. His Divine Comedy is widely considered the most important poem of the Middle Ages and the greatest literary work in the Italian language.

700 is a reading of selected cantos (I, III, V, XXXII) from Inferno in ancient Florentine, accompanied by original compositions plus medieval and Renaissance live music and videos with English subtitles.

Welcome remarks by His Excellency the Italian Ambassador Lorenzo Galanti.
The recital will be preceded by the introduction: Dante - the secret reason of his enduring fame throughout 7 centuries.
