Since 1999, the Sci-Art Network which was established at the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University has initiated a project to educate the knowledge on scientific painting for youth, researchers and the public to create an understanding of how to effectively convey the beauty of nature. Both for use in classrooms, research articles, and as a hobby. The network also plays an important role in pushing Thai artists to be recognized internationally.

In the year of 2018 and 2019, the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University organised annual Botanical Art Thailand exhibition at BACC under the title “Botanical Art Thailand.” This is the first full-scale botanical painting exhibition in Bangkok showing the works of students, teachers, botanists and artists from all over the country.

This year, the exhibition is held from 22 September – 4 October. We hope that this exhibition will contribute to a better understanding of plant science among artists, botanists and the general public as well as raising awareness and cooperation in preserving the diversity of plants for our future generations.
