Bangkok Art and Culture Centre together with the Ibero American Embassies present the first Latin LGBTQ Film Festival with desire to build understanding of cultural diversity through films, and to exchange contexts and perspectives regarding LGBTQ topic from different cultural lenses.
This program is a part of SPECTROSYNTHESIS II – Exposure of Tolerance: LGBTQ in Southeast Asia exhibition at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from 23 November 2019 - 01 March 2020 at the Main gallery, 7th - 8th Floor.

María Elena Hotus, a 70-year-old woman, who works as a composer, performer, and teacher of different vocal techniques, has decided to pass on her legacy before she dies. This is why she prepares her daughter, Aru Pate Hotus, to succeed her. Aru, a transsexual, has to fight against the Islanders’ deeply rooted bigotry and sexism.

 Segundo Paucar, a 14 year old boy wants to become a master story-box maker just like his father to carry on with the family legacy. On his way to a community celebration in the Andes, Segundo accidentally observes his father in a situation that shatters his whole world. Trapped in a chauvinistic environment, Segundo will try to deal in silence with all that is happening to him.
