The Embassy of Ukraine is pleased to invite you to a new exhibition of Ukrainian art. The exhibition of MariyaPrymachenko, one of the most prominent painter of national art.

Mariya Prymachenko (1908–1997) is one of the most famous Ukrainian artists, a bright representative of “naive art”, a winner of Shevchenko National Prize (1966).UNESCO announced 2009 as the Year of Ukrainian Artist Mariya Prymachenko.

The fantastic world of Mariya Prymachenko’s images is a unique artistic combination, a cultural phenomenon that mixes the traditions of folk art with personal talent and imagery. The surrealistic motif of her art tells that Mariya Prymachenko didn’t only lead the artist ahead of her time, but also created a separated reality – unbelievable, wonderful and profound.
