Erwin Wurm is an Austrian living and working in Vienna and Limberg, Austria. Since the late 1980s, he has developed an ongoing series of One Minute Sculptures, in which he poses himself or his models in unexpected relationships with everyday objects close at hand, prompting the viewer to question the very definition of sculpture. He seeks to use the unique path in creating a sculpture — a clear and fast, sometimes humorous form of expression. His works are included in prestigious collections throughout the world at the Albertina, Vienna; Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada; Centre Pompidou, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris; Kunstmuseum Bonn; Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna; CAC Malaga, Spain; Kunsthaus Zurich; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and Albright-Knox Gallery, New York, among others. The artist lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
