The first Cinema Diverse was created in 2012 by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre's Arts Activity Department as part of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre’s mission to promote arts and culture within the local community as well as encourage arts and cultural dialogue between the artists and general public. This project aims to motivate arts and cultural values and give inspiration to the local community by screening international films with diverse cultural and social content.
Cinema Diverse tries to promote cinema not only as an entertaining experience but as an art form which can be used to project the thoughts, ideas and beliefs of the filmmakers.Through this project, the audience is encouraged to discover new perspective, experience and knowledge from cinema as well as to exchange ideas by taking part in the talk and the Q&A session after the screening with the filmmakers and film experts.
