Variety in terms of genres and styles is the festival’s major characteristic. Highlights include staged readings of six new Thai plays, including two musicals—one based on Einstein’s relativity theory, the other on Thongchai “Bird” McIntyre’s songbook; as well as full-scale productions of translations and adaptations of Max Bush’s Rockway Café, Chin Woon Ping’s Details Cannot Body Want; William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night; and Arthur Miller’s The Crucible.

 

All performances are at Bangkok Art and Culture Center (at Patumwan Intersection, across from MBK). From January 16 to February 14 (on Saturdays and Sundays only). Two performances a day at 2pm and 6pm. Admission is free. Tickets can be obtained in advance at Chulalongkorn University’s Boromrajakumaree Building Room 805, or at the door.
