About the Curator

Brian Curtin is an Irish-born lecturer, art critic and curator of contemporary art. He holds a Ph.D. in studio art from the University of Bristol and has been based in Bangkok since 2000, where he lectures in the Department of Computer Graphics and Multimedia of Bangkok University. He is external examiner for the MFA in Communication Design at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and has been a tutor for the MFA program at the Art Institute of Boston. Brian publishes internationally with magazines such as Frieze, Flash Art, Artforum.com and Art Asia Pacific; and is a regular writer for Art 4D and the Bangkok Post. He has also published in Art Journal, The Journal of Curatorial Studies, Parachute and Public 45: Civic Spectacle. Recent curatorial projects Gentle Matter (2013) at Richard Koh Fine Art in Singapore, Radiation: Art and Queer Ideas from Bangkok and Manila, Un-Compared (2012) at DAGC Gallery in Manila, On the Threshold of the Senses: New Art from Southeast Asia (2012) at Tally Beck Contemporary in New York City and the Southeast Asian Section of the Chongqing Youth Biennale (2011) in China. Brian programs and curates for H Gallery Bangkok, including H Project Space and H Chiang Mai.
